Two week Vacation with Darl

well it's the end of my 2 wk vacation and i get to stay an extra night. Hangin out with the fam watching beauty and the geek bc our flight was canceled...its better than being in an airport waiting for a flight. We will be heading back tomorrow morning around 7am.

We started our adventures heading to LA... are layoverflight was held up.... so we were late... lots of airport time. I was glad to be in LA when we got there. We crashed and got up early to go hale watching... which didnt happen bc the weather was bad. The water was too rough... sadness. We ended up hangin at the beach and in town... then we ventured over to Balboa Island. It was funny watching Jen as her car floated to Balboa. We exploed the island and then went to dinner at an Japanese resurant where we boiled our own sushi... good stuff.

Saturday we woke up early to head into the city. We went to El Capitan to see Caspian. The we walked up to the Chinese theater and got our picture taken with Captain Jack Sparrow and Indiana Jone... Who asked if I was into getting whipped (rolling of the eyes). Weate at Mel's and walked around a bit more... headed over to teh La Brea Tar pits. We then headed over to Universal for dinner at Buca De Beppo and guess who i saw!!! Adam Ashoff! I am on the opposite side of the country from where we grew up and I see Adam Ashoff. I was surprised and happy to see him. It was a comfortable and familiar feeling. He's such a sweet guy. I wish I would have had the opportunity to get to know him better. After dinner we went to Saddle ridge to talk and have a few drinks... when peole started coming i had to leave. I dont like loud, crowded, drunk places. Darl got lostint he crowd and we didnt find her til 2am so we got home after 3 am.

Sunday we went to church, then we tried whale watching again. And it worked! it was so nice being on the ocean. We went to eat at calientes for lunch before we went out on the ocean. then we stayed in the rest of the night and hung out.

Monday we went to we went to Jamba Juice and we toured Chapman, Jens campus. Then ate dinner at a chinese resturant. It eas fun... hung out the rest of the night... i got pretty sick.

Tues we spent the ENTIRE day at the airport... yuck. I had some words with the American Airline reps. We eventually got to Austin and to the house a little before 12am. I was sick, California gave me a acold as a going away present. So i spent the first 2/3 days in texas laying around doing nothing... it was glorious.

Friday Brian took us to Travis lake and we jumped off 30+ ft cliffs into Travis lake. and swam around... we then had to scale the cliffs to get back up. It was lots of fun. Darl got some narly bruises... BATTLE SCARS!

Saturday we went to Mansfield to swim. Mansfield is a creek below the dam and i burned a hole in my foot. BATTLE SCARS! Then we went out to Magnolias for dinner and Pat took us around Austin. We had Amy's for dessert.

Sunday we went to church, then down to San Antonio in the afternoon. We saw the Alamo and walked along the river walk. Monday we did nothing again... hung around the house. Andtoday we packed up and cleaned... our flight was canceled and we came back to hang out with the fam. so tomorrow we have to get up early and hopefully we will be home by 2:30pm... thats the plan.

It was a fun trip. Hard to believe it is over. It was fun watching theboys beat up oneeachother and their mom... i have a few more thoughts on what i want to do after china. There is so much one cando with ones life... I am just facingthe factthat i will be alone for most of my decisions. Steps of FAITH i guess.

I have more personal thoughts,but i am really getting too tired towrote anymore. maybe i will get another chance later this wk, after a bit more pondering.

Learning more andmoreabout myself and this life i am living... i think i take life too seriously sometimes... i need to work on lightening up. WEll, thats a new topic for another post... good night all... have a fantastic smmer!
